Human trafficking is the trade in humans, most commonly for the purpose of sexual slavery, forced and bonded labor or for the extraction of organs or tissues, including surrogacy.
Sadly, in Africa, particularly in Ghana, women and children are trafficked for the purpose of bonded labor, domestic servitude, and sexual exploitation.
These women and children endure severely dehumanizing and exploitative conditions under their masters or perpetrators, and they hope to be rescued and given a second chance to be free.
Our challenge is to identify these victims, work with their parents, masters, community leaders as well as law enforcement and government agencies in order to secure their freedom, and to rehabilitate, reunite and reintegrate them back into their community of origin.
